Vase, 510 - 500 B.C. Pluto (greek Hades), the king of the underworld (right), looks at Sisiphus who rolls the famous stone on a mountain. Left Persephone is sitting on a stone, in her hand some ears of corn, her symbols of fertility. Persephone spends spring, summer and fall on earth and makes this way possible the growing of the plants and the harvest of corn and fruits.
