The future

The newest experiments in peony breeding

Peony crossing is by no means over. In Europe, China, Japan, the USA, and lately also in New Zealand and Australia new peony cultivars are being produced. It will take years yet for them to be available on the market.

In Germany the crossing between Paeonia mlokosewitschii and Paeonia suffruticosa seems to be successfull.

In the USA some people try to cross Paeonia californica with other peonies. A great intention for some peony breeders is to get orangecoloured peonies. The future of peony breeding is exciting.
